Changing Times for Simula County (Simulation Part 2) ADDIE – Analysis Dr. Morganstern is pleased with the design team's initial research. Based on the results of your research, she has concluded that there is more than sufficient evidence that the use of simulations can be effective in the K12 environment. She now wants to move ahead with the project post-haste. Because of the success Dr. Morganstern had in the corporate training world using the ADDIE model, she wants to use it for all major instructional design projects for the Simula County school district. Because she believes that the district lacks the internal expertise to develop the “Simulations for Teachers” course, Dr. Morganstern has asked her former mentor at Wayne State University, Dr. John Childs to assist in this project. Dr. Childs wants to conduct a formal “Needs Analysis” before making the buy vs. build decision. Dr. Childs is going to use Project 2010 to assist him with the organization of this instructional design project. Dr. Morganstern has indicated she would like to conduct training two weeks before the start of classes. It is now March. This gives the design team five months to design, develop, and implement this project. Dr. Child needs to develop a timeline for the major milestones for this project. The milestones will be:
Assignment: Dr. Childs calls a meeting with your team. The purpose of the team meeting is to determine the actual goals of the project. The team will create a description of how they hope the training will impact the classroom, what a classroom would look like using simulations, and how success or failure of the program will be measured. The team also needs to identify resources within the school district that can assist with this project and what instructional and technical resources the school district has for the project. Finally, the team needs to determine what other tasks need to be performed to start this project. As a team, decide how you would answer these questions and post your team’s responses to the discussion board in Blackboard. Checklist for Blackboard Assignment
